In a tight applicant market, professionally designed selection or potential analysis procedures help to more accurately identify the suitable candidates among the few. The interview, as the most frequently used procedure, is of particular importance here. The updated interview standards adopted in March 2021 by Forum Assessment e. V. (formerly Arbeitskreis Assessment Center e. V.) provide a structured overview of scientifically based rules as well as up-to-date information for practical implementation in interviewing in order to facilitate a high-quality interview process with meaningful results. In addition to the basics of a professionally designed and structured aptitude diagnostic interview process (e.g. clarification of the objectives, work and requirements analysis, interview conception), the standards now also take current topics and challenges into account. An additional extended version "Interview Standards in Practice" offers additional practice-related implementation tips and examples, e.g. in the form of checklists and concrete procedures.
