Based on general megatrends that map medium- to long-term change in the economy and society, five development trends in personnel selection are described: Definition of novel job demands, professionalization of aptitude diagnostics, new challenges for cultural-fair diagnostics, digitalization of recruitment processes, and automation of analyses and diagnostics. These trends served as an orientation framework for contribution submissions to the thematic issue ‚Personnel selection in the 2020s‘ of the scientific journal ‚Wirtschaftspsychologie‘.
